Kalimera Beach Hotel

LikedThis is such a charming boutique hotel! It’s exceptionally clean, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. It truly felt like a home away from home. Another great perk was the complimentary breakfast. It was delicious, offered a great selection, and made our mornings so much easier, especially when traveling with kids. One of the highlights of our stay was the bartender. He was fantastic! We stayed for five days, and by the end it felt like we had made a new friend. We looked forward to seeing him every day. He even learned what our kids liked and always had their favorite things ready for them, which made our stay feel extra special and personal. We had a wonderful experience and would gladly stay here again. Highly recommend!

DislikedRoom for improvement: Upon arrival, there was no assistance offered with our luggage. While this may not be a standard service everywhere, it was something we had appreciated at other properties during our trip. We also noticed that fresh hand towels were not available when we arrived. It was a small detail, but one that would have made our arrival feel more welcoming. One thing that stood out to us throughout our travels in Belize was how warm, hospitable, and genuinely kind the people were. Because of that, we were a bit surprised that we didn’t experience the same level of friendliness from the kitchen staff. When we ordered lunch, we felt somewhat as though we were inconveniencing them, and while breakfast service was smoother, we often got the impression that our presence was a bother. It wasn’t a major issue, but it did feel a little unusual compared with the warmth and hospitality we encountered elsewhere during our trip. Overall, these are relatively minor points, but addressing them could make the guest experience even better.

LikedI loved the boutique feel of property. Staff was very friendly and the place was clean. Breakfast was delicious. If you have a golf cart, you can get anywhere in 10-15 min

LikedThe staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The buildings and everything was really pretty and clean. And the food was a nice variety and very good.

DislikedIt was disappointing that we couldn’t swim directly from the resort due to the large amounts of seaweed. This was not their fault. This was all along the coastline.

Likedbeautiful property. Breakfast is included. Cooks were great! They offer coconut water, coffee and tea, and a small bit tasty menu. The beach ares has hammocks and chairs. z the bartender makes alcohol free and alcoholic drinks very well.

Dislikedthe first day out room was closed to the pool and people in the pool were very loud but then they were gone so it was move. They need more chairs by the pool

LikedThis is a little bit of paradise. You can tell there was a lot of thought that went into this charming hotel. It's small but doesn't feel small. We were in the king room on the beach and the views were magnificent. When we were not out and about, or on the beach, we were on our porch, reading, sipping drinks or eating breakfast. The staff was amazing. Elvis, the bartender, learned our names on day one and was so attentive and friendly. He would deliver drinks to our porch. The cooking staff also delivered our breakfasts to our porch and the breakfasts were delicious. The location was great and we could walk to about 5 different restaurants. The people at the front desk arranged our transportation and our excursions. We are already planning our return trip.

DislikedThe lighting in our room and bath could use improvement. However, we were hardly in there, so it didn't matter much. The only negative thing was the sargassum that came in. It was there most of the trip and didn't allow us to fully enjoy the water. We realize this is not the hotel's fault but it is a concern.

LikedBreakfasts were extraordinary, unlike your typical hotel breakfasts. Local fruits and juices, Belizean fry jack, Belizean omelets - all prepared to order and served in a gorgeous poolside setting. Attentive staff. We appreciated the availability of bikes and simple watercraft, the beachside bar was an asset, the hammocks and comfortable cushioned loungers made relaxing near the pool and under the palapas very comfortable. The attention to detail, from the elegant and abundant coat hangers to the abundance of foot-rinsing stations between beach and pool, to the conch shell outside shower, was marvelous. The proximity of two excellent beach restaurants, accessible by a barefoot stroll through the sand, was a treat.

LikedKalimera Resort is in a truly beautiful location, and the room exceeded expectations-thoughtfully designed with extra special touches that made it feel luxurious and welcoming. Breakfast was wonderful, with great quality and choices and a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. The front desk staff were incredibly warm, helpful, and genuinely made us feel cared for throughout our stay. One of the highlights was enjoying massages right on the beach-pure relaxation and such a memorable experience. We loved every moment and would happily return, hopefully for longer next time!!

DislikedI do wish they had a free airport shuttle. It is a $20 taxi, but for the price, would be appreciated!

LikedIt was a very intimate setting without encroaching on your privacy. The rooms were beautifully minimalistic and comfortable.
