Jerusalem Gold Hotel

LikedEverything was perfect! Mary was absolutely lovely and helpful even before I arrived at the hotel, and of course throughout my entire stay. The room was cozy, comfortable, and very clean, and it truly had everything I needed. The entire staff was wonderful, welcoming, and professional. I had a great experience and will definitely be back!

LikedThe hotel is very basic and comfortable if you are just looking for a place to sleep. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There is parking at the hotel for a small additional fee. The location is very central, right by the central station, making it very easy to get around using public transport. There is a bit of street noise in the morning, but it is not too disturbing. There is no point in getting the hotel breakfast; it is not very appealing. The staff is very service-oriented and ready to help and assist with anything you need.

LikedThe warm hospitality of the staff was outstanding, particularly Mary. She even accompanied us to the entrance of the hotel when we had difficulty finding it. She accommodated special requests, upgraded our room, provided cold drinks and snack on arrival and answered questions.

DislikedWhile the location is great, the actual entrance is very hard to find if you arrive by bus or train. No signage.

LikedThe location was perfect for us. The Jerusalem Gold Hotel is located at the entrance to Jerusalem, where the intercity train, local "street trains" and buses all meet, and right across from the International Convention Center of Jerusalem, where we attended a major international conference. We could roll out of bed and be in the conference in a leisurely 15 minute walk. The staff was also excellent, especially Mary, the front desk agent, who went out of her way to arrange a room for us that met all our needs. She was also very helpful when we asked to leave some extra luggage at the front desk until check-in time.

DislikedThere needs to be signs on the side of the hotel facing Yafeh Street indicating which way to walk to reach the steps leading to the hotel entrance. (Of course, cab drivers will know how to drive to the entrance).

LikedRooms were very clean, bathrooms have recently been redone. We liked how they have an additional sink in the kitchenette area. Beds and sheets were clean, comfortable. Loads of towels and pillows. We had breakfast at the hotel every day- it is outstanding! Fresh, hot rolls, croissants, eggs, pancakes, Shakshuka, sliced fish. Their staff is very helpful and responsive to your needs! Also, this hotel is in the most amazing location. Right across the street from the central bus station, in the middle of town where all the shops and restaurants are, right on the light-rail which brings you to other parts of town. Hotel would also be excellent for group stays.

DislikedThe hotel has been around for a long time, so there are parts that look dated and could use refurbishing. However, it is clean, comfortable, dependable and right in the heart of all the action.

LikedDuring our stay at the hotel, we met Mary at the reception. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and professional. Thanks to her, we received outstanding service and felt truly welcomed. She made our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you, Miri, for your excellent hospitality!
