LikedFrom the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. They are what makes The Ashbee so special. The hotel is a beautifully converted historic building, with exceptional comfort and attention to detail throughout. The bedding and towels were luxurious, the shower was amazing, and the quality of the fixtures, food and breakfast was excellent. The room attendants and evening turndown service were wonderfully attentive. Alex and Elizabeth looked after us so well on our first day, and Alex recommended some fantastic restaurants. At breakfast, Ivana remembered our coffee orders every morning and made us feel personally cared for. The restaurant is also a perfect setting for lunch. The hotel itself is beautiful, but it is the warmth, hospitality and outstanding service from the people that truly make it memorable.
DislikedWhat didn’t you like about the property?
There was nothing significant that we disliked, and the consistently high standard of service and attention to detail made it very difficult to find fault. The only negative aspect of our stay was witnessing an extremely rude and vocal guest shouting at Diana at reception. His behaviour was completely unacceptable, while Diana remained gracious, calm and exceptionally professional throughout.
We made a point of telling her afterwards how impressed we were with the way she handled the situation, because no member of staff should have to deal with behaviour like that. The hotel even sent a bottle of Prosecco to our room to apologise for what we had witnessed, which was a very thoughtful gesture, although the hotel had absolutely nothing to apologise for. Our concern was entirely about the behaviour of another guest, not the hotel or its staff.
