Monastero di Cortona Hotel & Spa

LikedStaff were quite outstanding. Attentive and anticipated needs including carrying bags to and from car, guiding into garage, introduction to hotel. Yes, it is expensive but worth what it costs. It is particularly appealing to have a Michelin restaurant within the hotel (as well as a second casual place) with the expected levels of service, cuisine and ambience. So good we ate there both nights with excellent variety of options.

DislikedAccess is atrocious! Obviously not the fault of the hotel but you do need nerves of steel (and preferably a compact car) to get into and out of the city. Rather helpfully they sent a video of the implausible route without which I would have seriously doubted if it really was a road or merely a pedestrian access! Overall worth the stress to be right inside this amazing town.

LikedFrom the moment I arrived, the staff delivered exceptional service, going above and beyond to ensure every detail of my stay was perfect. The amenities were first-class, with the pool and spa providing a truly relaxing and luxurious experience. The dining exceeded every expectation—the food was exquisite, and the chicken Caesar salad was, without question, the best I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to return.

DislikedThe only drawback during my stay was the noise from housekeeping while the rooms beside mine were being serviced. The activity in the hallway was quite noticeable and occasionally disrupted the otherwise peaceful atmosphere.

What truly made my stay exceptional was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure I had a wonderful experience. Their genuine hospitality made me feel right at home. This was a memorable stay, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. If you’re visiting Cortona, this hotel is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommended!

LikedThe manager was very personable and knew my name and said hello everytime she saw me. The staff was excellent, from check in to breakfast, the bar area, spa area, and housekeeping. Our room was spotless everyday. They also arranged for transportation from and to the train station. We loved everything about this hotel!
