LikedBreakfast buffet was great and staff were attentive, bringing coffee etc. It's a very large hotel, appproximately 10 mins walk down to the town. Large pool - not cold. Lots of sunbeds. Roof-top bar was very good, if a little too expensive.

LikedBeautiful property. We had a great view of the ocean as well as the beautiful swimming pool. Clean. Excellent service. 10 min walk to the downtown Funchal. Easy parking. My wife loved the spa in the hotel. Several min walk to a popular scuba diving shop in Funchal.
DislikedNot much we didn't like, but let me try... Not the cheapest hotel (but we found it is worth the price. We passed by other luxurious hotels in the similar category as Savoy Palace, but we we concluded we made a right choice). On our first day, the room temperature was way too low, and we needed to open the window to raise the room temperature.

LikedFantastic hotel, a lot of value for the money (at least if you travel there off-peak season). Great breakfast; very clean and large rooms; great view over the Atlantic Ocean.
