Riffelalp Resort 2222m - Ski-In Ski-Out

LikedThe room was big and confortable, it had automation for the curtains and a good and modern bathroom. The bed was big and confortable. Big praise to general staff for being very polite and attentive, especially Florencia from breakfeast and alexander restaurant. The breakfast was amazing, eggs were incredible and many options. The spa is excellent, many types of experiences and saunas available, and pools. Other high points are bowling area, the bar with live music and the two restaurants available.

DislikedStaff from reception were not that helpful, did not give any tips on things to do in the area for example, also did not make a reservation on the restaurants for us while saying they did. Finally, the concierge did not give us much attention, and looked at us almost arrogant. The warmed pools could be a bit warmer.

LikedThis is my 3rd time back and hoping for 4th and 5th time. My first time was Aug 2022 and second time was July 2023. And Aug 2026 is my third time. Love the view, the room, the pool, the resort, the staff, the fresh air, the peacefulness, everything!!! It’s like paradise on earth. I can say it’s my number one favourite hotel in all of Switzerland at the moment.

DislikedThe food could be improved. I understand that the resort location is somewhat remote from the town and logistical wise, it could be difficult to bring some ingredients. Don’t get me wrong, the food isn’t bad, it’s just not matching my expectation with other 5-stars resort in Zermatt or St Moritz. Also the pool is fantastic, but however the jacuzzi is in rotation mode. Where it will rotate automatically from this spot to that spot. If the hotel would consider upgrading the system that enable it to focus just the location where guests press the button, it would be perfect.

DislikedThe bathroom of the hotel room: after each shower water would collect on the window stool. You could see it damaged the wall (mold was forming) We had to keep the door/window open at night because it was getting too warm and the air quality was becoming bad.

LikedEverything - it was fabulous. Service was incredible.

LikedThe Location is perfect and our room has 2 terraces , which we can enjoy the view of Matterhorn day and night and if you want to enjoy the Matterhorn , you have to stay here for at least two nights because Matterhorn always was covered by cloud . Breakfast is very good and all the staffs there are very friendly and very helpful .

Dislikedonly dinner should start earlier like !8:30 instead of 19:00 and that's all I can think of .

LikedRiffelalp is one of the world‘s great hotels. While skiing Zermatt in its own right is exceptional, the hotel adds a visual and emotional dimension. The spa, sauna, hammam, ice, cave, etc. is world class delivering the perfect conclusion to the end of a hard day’s skiing. The restaurants are fabulous, particularly the Walliserkeller, but most of all the hotel is distinguished by its traditional Swiss service. The staff take great pride in their work and nothing is too much trouble. Recommended unreservedly!
