The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong

LikedThe location is excellent, close to Shanghai’s main attractions and directly connected to a very luxurious mall, with several other malls nearby offering plenty of restaurants and different experiences. The hotel facilities are modern and impressive, but what stood out most was the service. From the moment we entered, we felt that the team wanted to make our stay as comfortable as possible. A special thanks to Ashin from the reception team, who welcomed us warmly, made everything easy, and did everything possible to improve our experience. The laundry service was excellent and fast, and the in-room dining was reasonably priced, although the menu was somewhat limited. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I would definitely return.

DislikedUpon arrival, we were required to provide a security deposit equivalent to around 50% of the total booking value, despite having already paid for our stay in full. I explained that I preferred to pay for any additional services as I used them rather than having such a large amount held, but the deposit was still required. After checkout, I requested its release, and it took around five working days for the funds to be returned. This was the only aspect of the experience that I found inconvenient.

DislikedPrices a bit steep, you are basically charged for absolutely everything except water which was refilled daily, same as coffee capsules. Dining very expensive.

DislikedBreakfast timing could be extended a little. Battling jet lag, we missed a few breakfasts since it closes at 10:00–10:30.

LikedWe chose here for the view - our room had the view to the signature 3 tall buildings in Lujiazui. And the breakfast restaurant and the rooftop bar Flair has amazing view to the pearl tower. All the staff were nice and helpful, in general the service was great! The room was spacious, but I wouldn't say it's big, compare to other luxury hotels in Shanghai. The bathroom area is great, spacious and had everything I need.

DislikedCloset area was small, and there's no proper full body mirror.

LikedFrom the moment you step in, you can feel the professionalism. The staff are very friendly, and the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and of very high quality. The location is superb, situated near the IFC Mall and Superbrand Mall.
