LikedThe location is unbeatable , right at the center of beautiful Munich . I had a great massage with a masseur called Sinam , which was excellent.

DislikedThe rooms are far too dark, making it difficult to find things even with the lights on at full power. The spa facilities also feel outdated and lack the luxurious atmosphere you would expect. The entrance through the rooftop bar/restaurant unfortunately doesn’t create much of a sense of arrival or glamour either. Considering this is one of Munich’s top addresses, I would love to see the hotel refreshed and given the elegant, glamorous touch it deserves. The potential is definitely there.

LikedExceptional service - we arrived very early in the morning and they went out of their way to provide us with a room. It was also my birthday and they noticed and sent a birthday cake to the room.....it was a really lovely surprise. They also have a fabulous rooftop bar - with amazing views. It was a great place to relax and unwind at the end of each day. Excellent location - super short walk to the Marienplatz.

LikedA Munich classic, amazing staff, amazing amenities, one has to make time to really enjoy the hotel.

DislikedOur rooms were extremely warm. We turned off all heating and turned the ac to cold but it didnt help. Also very low ceilings, I am not sure that lines with the hotel’s previous old world charm. The lobby and entrance is also very underwhelming. I feel the recent renovations didn’t do justice to this beautiful institution.

DislikedAlthough the hotel is clearly historical and aimed at a luxury experience, given the very steep price there were several shortcomings. The WiFi was very slow in the room. It required a paid upgrade for a faster Wifi, but even the premium Wifi was slow. I requested to print a page from the concierge, and they were very friendly, but it took a long time and several calls to actually receive the printout. At night the hotel hosts a night club which had loud music, people coming and going all the time, very unusual to have the club share the same entrance as the hotel. The price is really quite high per night, even compared to other luxury hotels. (4-500 euros).
