LikedThis hotel exceeded my expectations. Really, we were staying there for 2 nights at the end of our vacation because it was closer to the airport. I had no idea how exceptional and special this place was. I can't say enough. At check-in was given champagne, and the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The spa was great with the indoor pool and Turkish shower. The infinity pool on the roof with hot tub and bar. We also mentioned at check-in that it was our anniversary - champagne and chocolates awaited us in our room. It was so thoughtful! I want to come back, just to stay at this hotel again!

LikedThey really made me feel so special for my birthday - upgraded our rooms and had a chocolate cake in the suite! The property was beautiful and so central, rooftop pool and spa amenities were so nice to come back to after a day of hiking

LikedThe location is in the center of Funchal. you can walk to the farmers market or the waterfront promenade easily.

DislikedThe door to the parking lot (a collection of dilapidated buildings next to the hotel) was very small. It was very difficult to turn in. The room does not have view. You have to go to the deck on the rooftop to have an ocean view. The jacuzzi was very small and always occupied.

LikedGreat location close to everything. Staff members were very helpful- particularly Lilia and Armando in the dining room and Luisa at the front desk.

DislikedThe spa pool could be warmer particularly in January. Room layouts could be improved for storage space near bathroom sinks.

LikedThe hotel itself was outstanding. The communication through the bookings.com was not optimal.
