GA Palace Hotel & Spa, a XIXth-Century Villa

LikedWe had the most beautiful three-day stay. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was truly top-notch. A very special thank you to Fonseca, who went above and beyond to make my boyfriend’s birthday so memorable. The surprise and the card were such thoughtful touches and really showed the level of attention to detail throughout our stay. Everything was beautifully maintained, from the fresh flowers to the cleanliness and the overall atmosphere of the hotel. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was absolutely amazing. We also had a wonderful experience at the spa. Rita and Marta were exceptional — both the body massage and facial massage were incredible. As someone with special training in facial massage, I really appreciated the quality, technique and attention they put into the treatments. Overall, it was a very special stay and we would return without hesitation.

LikedWe had a fabulous 3 nights here for our 20th anniversary. The attention to detail is outstanding, with towels, toiletries, flip flops, chocolates, beautiful linen, fresh flowers and more. The breakfast choice was also delicious and you can eat as much as you wish (fresh fruit and yogurt, pastries, cooked). The restaurant has very good food and themed nights if you wish to eat in. All of the staff are friendly and welcoming, and managed to pitch it perfectly with being helpful but not intrusive. We also very much enjoyed the pool and they provide a glass of complimentary fizz at 5.30 each day for anyone present. They were happy to keep our luggage on our last day and for us to use the facilities after checking out too. A wonderful break!

DislikedI cannot think of a thing. Porto is a very busy city and great for walking if you like exercise and climbing hills. The location was very central and close to everything but just far enough away to be a bit quieter.
