Monsieur Jean - Hôtel Particulier

LikedWe really enjoyed our stay at Monsieur Jean. The location is very central, right in the heart of Old Québec, which made it very convenient for exploring the city. The room was spacious and beautifully designed, with a large bathroom, double sinks, separate shower, bathtub and toilet. We also loved the kitchenette, which was cleverly hidden behind the cabinet doors. The little details throughout the room were especially impressive — everything felt high-quality, well maintained and thoughtfully designed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we appreciated their flexibility with our check-out. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and really loved the room and the location.

DislikedThe breakfast was okay, but the selection was a little limited and could have offered more variety. The room faced the street, which offered a nice view, but some outside noise could be heard. I could also occasionally hear faint sounds from neighboring rooms, although the conversations were not clear. The sound insulation could be improved. The windows were large and bright, which we liked, but automatic curtains would have been a nice addition.

LikedLoved the decor throughout as well as the friendliness of staff. also loved the location and the fact that with my Hilton honors membership my breakfast was complimentary.

LikedPerfect location to be able to walk to many different parts of Quebec City. It was also an easy location to taxi to/from the airport. The hotel bar had fantastic drinks and appetizers that was an added bonus.

DislikedThe room we booked with an upgrade was connected to another room that had dogs in it. The dogs were relentlessly barking. The hotel was so kind to move us into a different room, but unfortunately the only room available was not the upgraded style. Also, there was a very strong air freshener / perfume in the lobby. As someone who gets migraines from such aromas, it was difficult to walk through the lobby.

LikedThe room was exceptionally clean and spacious. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. The location couldn't have been more convenient either. Steps away from dining, shopping, and exploring.

DislikedMy husband doesn't eat fish or seafood so was a little disappointed with the menu in the restaurant.

LikedThis hotel hit it out of the park. The cleanest room I've seen since The Ritz, the friendliest staff, an extremely comfortable bed (I want the comforter!), quiet, pet-friendly, lovely bathroom, smart and stylish layout, and perfect location.

DislikedThat I couldn't stay longer, lol! Truly, no notes.

LikedLocation was fabulous; the decor throughout the property was a delight; and our room was amazing!
