LikedThe hotel is absolutely beautiful and very special. The restored village has a unique atmosphere and a lot of character, and the breakfast was exceptional. We only stayed for one night, so unfortunately we did not have time to enjoy the pool or participate in any of the activities and tours offered by the hotel. We also arrived too late for dinner, but we heard very good things about the restaurant.
DislikedWe arrived quite late, around 10:30 PM. Although I had requested that our room and the room of our 14-year-old children would be close to each other, they were located quite far apart. We had also requested an extra mattress in one of the rooms, but it had not been prepared. After several requests, the mattress was eventually moved to the correct room. It is also important to note that there are quite a few stairs throughout the property, so it may be less suitable for elderly guests or people with mobility limitations. The drive to the hotel at night is also very dark and not especially pleasant if you are unfamiliar with the area.
LikedThis place is a dream. Some will miss it entirely because it’s not on the sea, but trust it’s so worth it. Authentic and interesting setting, incredible food and staff, a serene pool area. Food was delish especially the breakfast. I literally went to come back to Crete just to stay here again.
LikedThe overall ambience of the hotel was gorgeous. I loved how they picked straight from their garden for their meals. Oranges, avocados, lemons, limes, grapes, tomatoes, and more were all grown on the premise and you could taste the freshness. Hotel staff was very friendly and they offer events throughout the week like hiking, cooking, and yoga. Highly recommend the cooking class. In very close proximity to Arkadi Monastery which was worth the historic visit. Definitely need to have a car as there is not much in walkable distance but they do have free parking.
DislikedWe had massages which were great, but would have been even better if we could have done a couples massage.
LikedGorgeous property, romantic and also family friendly. We arrived late and they prepared the list wonderful plates and bottle of wine waiting for us. The grounds have an abundance of fruit trees. The breakfast is the best hotel breakfast I’ve had. We also enjoyed the taverna in a nearby village. The staff had wonderful recommendations for beaches, restaurants, etc. Really special place.
DislikedIf anything to note, you have to drive for day trips, as nothing is without walking distance.
LikedEverything - beautiful design, delicious food, tranquil, relaxing.
