LikedThe location was beautiful, that perfect getaway from city bustle. Perfectly tucked away but walkable distance to the main street for food and access to Johnson's Beach. The staff was wonderful and friendly. We were blown away by the breakfast and all the small things like s'mores kits, wine time and areas to sit and relax while taking in nature.

LikedThe breakfast included daily was TOP NOTCH! The attention to detail in the common areas as well as in our room were so appreciated - from the books, little reading nooks, teas and coffee daily and multiple seated areas, to the convenient s’mores and game night displays, to ear plugs and makeup wipes included in your normal toiletry inclusions, to an umbrella in the room closet, everything was so well-thought of, it felt like a home away from home. The place has been restored beautifully with updated amenities and decor! The bed was SO COMFORTABLE! What a special, special vacay we had:)

LikedThe Stavrand was a great place to spend a few days. The staff was great, the breakfast at the beginning of the day and the wine tasting at the end of it were both lovely. The staff was really helpful with recommendations for dinner in the area, all were spot on. There is a lot of land surrounding the hotel, its part orchard, gardens and Red Wood trees.
DislikedI was not pleased to find out that one of the two rooms we booked was very small. The price was the same, but one was decidedly inferior. The pool is not heated and the hot tub was not in working order for the time that we were there. We also had an issue with the credit card payment, perhaps they don't accept AMEX? They just couldn't process the payment and it felt uncomfortable, this has never happened before or since.
LikedThe property was gorgeous and the location is a good 20 minute walk from Main Street.
DislikedOur room’s entrance, number 8, was right next to the public restroom.. and it did smell.
LikedThe In is historic and beautiful. Our room was luxurious with it's own patio with a spa tub. The location is good. Every morning the restaurant opened for Breakfast at 8:00am. . The menu is adequate but breakfast is not included in the room price which seemed excessive given the location. We had travelled all day and were looking forward to a dinner at the highly rated restaurant. It was very disappointing that it's only open on Thurs., Fri., and Sat.
LikedRoom Configuration; Grounds; Garden. Very Peaceful. Breakfast was excellent of the highest quality and presentation. Stewart the Chef and supporting Kitchen/Wait Staff did an excellent job! The Guest Hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable in doing an excellent job!
DislikedPrice was really very High considering the property, it's location and demand! In addition Host Staff held $150.0 $ more for incidentals which wasn't necessary.
LikedRooms were beautiful, comfy and clean. The staff was so kind and helpful. Great spot for a weekend getaway from the Bay Area!
