The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu - a member of the Leading Hotels of the World-

LikedIt is something that you definitely expect from the hotel and you get all of it. Everything was top notch. I can only speak by myself, but it was the best hotel i have ever stayed in. I am going to visit again when it will be possible.

LikedEveything was excellent, we had a nice room also with a terrace which had a very nice view of the Hokan ji temple, were we took very nice pictures, the architecture of the buildibg really added to the overall experience and gave the hotel a very nice atmosphere. The staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful, helping us with the train, taxi, and the events kyoto had during our stay, our check in staff and check out staff helped us greatly by showing us the place and facilities. The first night we arrived late and ordered in room dining were we ate some very nice salmon sushi rolls and tasty hamburger. During the breakfast they check with us about our allergy requirments and gave us a really good breakfast specifically the japanese style bento box whuch consisted of the typical japanese breakfast as well as different wrestern food such as pancakes and omlets. The overall experience was wonderful and I would definitely recomend to everyone visiting kyoto

LikedWorld-class staff. Rooms are really nice and the entire hotel is beautiful. The lounge area that's open most of the day for guests to drop in and grab a bite and a drink is a standout both in terms of the offerings, staff and the view of a nearby shrine. This hotel is located near a lot of good dining and retail options. Gion-area just north of here felt like main & main when we were walking around and you're basically right there.

DislikedFound breakfast to be subpar which was a bit of a bummer relative to how good their lounge setup was. One thing that's a pro and a con depending on your preference/itinerary is that the hotel is located in a very very busy area off a relatively narrow, one-way, one-lane road. The reason it's so popular is that further up the hill-line is a popular attraction that most guests at the hotel will eventually see so from that perspective it's conveniently located. However, taxi's coming to and from the hotel get stuck in this congestion of people and it can be a bit overwhelming to step into whenever you leave or want to return to the hotel so just something for people to be aware of before booking. We eventually would walk about 4 min west down the hill and called ubers to a main road to save time to work around this.

LikedMy family and I considered this hotel one of the best hotels we ever stayed at. We enjoyed all the restaurants within the hotel (Japanese, French, and Italian) and really like the lounge.

LikedAwesome location with a beautiful room and a delicious breakfast. Loved the guest lounge with free food and drinks. Free Geisha show in the lounge was also a treat!

DislikedMy only complaint is that we could not use the private hot tubs without paying an additional fee.
